Like a movie, music plays an integral role at Winemaker’s CUT. Classical music is played throughout the vineyard and cellar. And it’s not just because of our deep love of the arts. The soothing power of music extends to plants, and helps to establish balanced, healthy vines.
We noticed the difference right away. The vines closest to the speakers were growing faster. In the cellar, the fermentations were smoother and more predictable. We now have 13 speakers throughout Deadman Lake Vineyard, each positioned to ensure all of the vines benefit.
A number of studies have found similar results: playing classical music for a few hours per day increases plant growth. It also benefits the vineyard workers, too. So, don’t be surprised to hear Mozart or Bach when you visit our tasting room.
